Chris Foster, a world champ in the making!
For those who may be scratching their heads a bit: Duathlon is an offshoot of triathlon that involves a 10k run/40k bike (draft legal in this format)/5k run. It is generally a very competitive and well-known sport in Europe and was quite popular in the US in the 90s. Europeans have historically dominated this event as they have more support for the sport in their respective countries.
Regardless, selections were competitive this year since the World Championships are being held in the US for the first time in many years. As such, the US is making a big effort to showcase this event and hopefully revitalize the sport in this country--in order to help do this, $50,000 of prize money will be offered at this highly competitive event in late September.
We will be sure to stay updated on Chris's results and again we would like to congratulate him on his hard efforts! A well deserved invite Chris, keep it up!

Motor Tabs @ the Vineman Triathlon
Motor Tabs was put to the test again in the 70.3 mile distance Vineman Triathlon by athlete Chris Berg! Congratulations on your finish!
“The water was 75 degrees, so wetsuits were in play. The event went well, and I was out of the water in about 26 minutes, and onto the bike course. Air temperature was warm once I started the leg, but only to get hotter as the day progressed. I put up my fastest bike split in 2:23:45, using an awesome combination of fruit punch and lemon lime flavored Motor Tabs in my bottles. With the hot weather out, it’s always nice to be able to have a sports drink something that still tastes great warm. I got off the bike in 2nd place for my age group. I ran well, but the heat took the spring out of my legs and I had trouble accelerating to speed up. I ran at 95 minutes flat to take 4th place in my age group and 18th overall. My course total time was 4:28:04, a personal record for myself on a 70.3 mile course.”

How to save a life
" Motor Tabs saved me today. I got out late on a ride and found myself riding in the Santa Monica's in over 100 degree heat on an eight mile climb with only ONE water stop at mile 6. I was extremly fatigued and heat exausted. I filled up my bottle at the ranger station, reach in my pocket and pulled out an Orange Motor Tabs and popped it in my bottle. It was a life saver that Motor Tabs are so easily portable and make warm water extra tasty, not to mention the boost of electrolytes including sodium, potassium and carbs that aided my tired legs. In a few minutes, my head felt clear again and I was refreshed on on my way.
Thanks for your continued support. I don't think I could have finished the ride with out the support of Motor Tabs. "

Tabs athlete Michellie Jones at it again!
Famed triathlete Michellie Jones tears up the competition again! Here is a race report directly from her. We are very proud to sponsor Michellie and provide her with a sports drink that gives her the essential electrolyte balance to get through such a harsh competition! Congratulations Michellie, we look forward to more successes in the future!
"It had been quite a while since I had competed in a 70.3 Ironman distance so I was definetly looking forward to seeing how it would turn out. It would also be interesting to see if all the short course racing I had been doing over the last few months would help.
Race morning the biggest challenge apart from having to get up at midnight California time for a 6am race start was that the swim course bouys had been blown all over the water because of the storm the night before. It also meant a very choppy swim was ahead.
Also the prospect of getting up so early almost made me wish I was a coffee drinker...No not really.:) I always find it quite amusing to watch other athletes the morning of the race frantically looking for there morning coffee fix.
The swim start was delayed a little as the life guards straightened out the course. Which just meant being nervous a little more longer.
Once the start gun finally fired I pretty much did not see anyone until the first turn around on the run as I had a pretty decent swim in the choppy waters and lead out of the water.
Once on the point to point 56mile bike I was passed by a few Pro Men early as I had past them in the swim even though they had a 2 minute head start on the women. I had "Eye of The Tiger" in my head entire bike route. I had absoluetly no idea where anyone else was during the bike.
So as I transitioned from the bike to the run I had to wait another 7 miles on the run before I knew where anyone else was. Finally I got a split as the first turn around and I had over 3 minutes and was feeling strong. The run course was a pretty tough 2 lap course which had a 7% climb each lap. Navigating the 7% climb seemed a lot easier than the pounding your quads got on the way back down.
With the steps of the Rocky movie as the back drop of the finish line I had grand thoughts of running straight through and up the stairs Rocky Balboa style but my legs had other ideas so I settled for just the finishline tape. As they say winner are grinners and I was v ery happy to take the victory. Desiree Flicker had a strong run to finish 2nd while Heather Jackson rounded out the podium
Top five professional women’s results are as follows:
1. Michellie Jones, 4:23:56
2. Desiree Ficker, 4:27:21
3. Heather Jackson, 4:33:39
4. Kim Loeffler, 4:36:53
5. Suzanne Zelazo, 4:40:57
A special Thanks to BrandyB's Mum Patti for looking after us all weekend :) "

A testimonial from another Tabber!
"I was a skeptic. After years of sticky powder, stained bottles, lumps that won’t dissolve, complicated mixtures, disgusting flavors, and powders that turned to stone, I had all but given up on fluid replacement drinks and mixes. I had tried product after product and been disappointed with most. I had to suffer through all the negatives to get the small positives that other products provided.
When I tried Motor Tabs for the first time, I had some pre-conceived opinions and assumed that it was “just like all the rest”. It didn’t take long to change my mind! Simply effective is how I explain Motor Tabs.
I use Motor Tabs exclusively now for all my athletic needs. Whether I’m racing my mountain bike, training on the road bike, trail running, or kayaking, Motor Tabs is my fluid replacement choice. The portability makes it perfect for my active life style. Just toss a couple of tablets in a pocket or pack, and add them to water when needed. No need to pre-mix, pre-measure, shake or stir. No mess or waste. The taste is pleasant and appealing, causing me take on more fluids than drinking water alone. Cramping has all but disappeared from my training and races. I have even mixed Motor Tabs with my recovery drink for enhanced flavor and additional carbohydrates.
A friend came to visit and went to the gym with me. He asked about Motor Tabs as we packed for a run. I explained how simple and affective they have been for me. He works long hours in the heat and drinks fluid replacement products almost daily to combat the losses from hours in the heat and sun. I offered him a couple to take home and try and now he keeps them in the trucks and tractors around the farm. They are an excellent choice for anyone who needs effective, affordable, portable fluid replacement. Motor Tabs could be used on construction sites, factory floors, assembly lines, warehouses, any place that heat and physical activity is depleting fluids. I have even added Motor Tabs to my medical kit to treat mild heat-related illnesses.
Pitch the powders, ditch the dust, grab a Tab!!!"

Motor Tabs @ the San Diego International Triathlon
On June 28th, one of Southern California’s most popular Triathlons had a great showing with over 2,000 racers. The competition was high to match the excellent venue held.
The Motor Tabs triathlon squad was there in full effect, bringing major heat onto the course. Both Miguel Ramos and Tom Stepp finish in 4th place in there respected age groups. Another notable mention comes from Kirk Fitzek, shutting down the competition again stealing 1st place away from his age group

Testimonial from athlete Chris Foster
"I do a lot of ITU racing in countries like Mexico and Ecuador where 100 degree temperatures are commonplace. The majority of races usuallys tart at noon, so we go off right at the height of the day’s heat. I really love Motor Tabs because I am always able to get the electrolytes my body needs without having to worry about stomach problems. It’s great that 4 different flavors are offered and are all really easy on my stomach while still tasting great. I race almost 20 times a year in such intense, high-pressure events. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my hydration is going to work and keep me from cramping up whether it’s a 100-degree race in Ecuador or a 60-degree race in Northern California. Either situation, the portability of Motor Tabs makes it easy to just throw a few tabs in my bag along with my water makes it easy in case I need to make extra bottles for the day. I love Motor Tabs because I’m never second-guessing what I put into my body on race day all throughout my long season!
Since I travel so much, the unique individual packaging is essential
for when I need to bring lots of electrolytes for extended stays in
hot climates. Thank goodness I don't have to bag my own portions of
hydration supplements when flying--nothing says "security risk" like
carrying plastic baggies of powder to races in Mexico!
I was so sick of super sweet, candy-like sports drinks. Motor Tabs
has such a nice, light flavor, and it sits perfectly in my stomach,
even on the longest training days and during the most intense races!"
