The 2009 Motor Tabs Triathlon Squadron made its debut at the BIG ROCK TRIATHLON, Presented by Motor Tabs and sister company Fluid Recovery on Saturday May 9th at Lake Perris, CA.
Leading off with the Dam Sprint Race, Mark Hapke and Ken Germain placing 1st & 2nd in the ultra quick 50-54 age group and showing that it's not age - but experience that counts by going 4th & 5th Overall respectively! These guys are trained up and shredded to be sure.
In the Big Rock Triathlon it was all about Miguel Ramos running away with 1st place in the tough 45-49 age group. Kirk Fitzek rolled in with 3rd place in a competitive 50-54 age group.
The Squadron placed four out of five men on the podium, as the squad’s real athlete, Jerry Brooks, was looking fast until he punctured half way through the bike course, dashing his hopes for top step in the 65-70 category.
Big Rock Triathlon's race directors Kirk and Susan Waymire put on a phenomenal show and we’re looking forward to their next event, coming up this November (http://www.sawsportsproductions.com/bigrock.html)
